Every Patient Tells a Story

Medical Misteries and the Art of Diagnosis
Author: Lisa Sanders, M.D.
Subject: medicine
My rating: 4*

About the book:
Lisa Sanders has a monthly column in the NYTimes about her experiences as a physician in dealing with unusual patient cases. Her column became the inspiration of the TV series "House", where she was/is the technical advisor. For those interested in medicine (and not only), each case that Dr. House solves is fascinating, although many times his unconventional ways are debatable. In any case, this book is an interesting read, and brings light not only in the way doctors think, but also on the shortcomings of the new generation of physicians. I enjoyed especially the chapters on physical examination and how diagnoses are missed. Highly recommended- the only reason I didn't give it a 5* is that I found the last chapters weaker than the rest.
