About the book:
Wow, I absolutely LOVED this book! One of the best books I read lately! Although some fragments are very sad, and will make your eyes (or heart) tear, I think this is a book that everybody should read. If you love animals, or you just eat them, this book will make you change the way you think, even if you're not after it. The author is great in just exposing information, with a vast amount of links, reports and suggestions; she is not trying to convince you to become vegan, but only serves you a full 5 course meal...it will be your decision by the end of the book if you will see the animal world with the same eyes. Or if you decide to finally open your eyes to it! Highly highly recommended to absolutely everyone. This book is a book to pass around, and to never forget!

From the book:
'Why worry about animal rights when there is so much human suffering in the world?' Animal rights activists are asked that constantly. Why don't people ask human rights activists how they can do their work when there is so much animal suffering in the world? Seriously though, part of the answer is in the question. Even somebody who does nothing to end human hunger wouldn't justify his apathy by telling relief workers that there are more important things to worry about. That's because society as a whole acknowledges that human suffering matters. Animal suffering, however, is treated as trivial, even as billions of beings endure unimaginable institutionalized cruelty. To those touched by the suffering of animals, the injustice of the suggestion that animals just don't matter is a call to action'.
