About the book:
I got my signed copy when Romeo Dallaire was in Calgary during Wordfest. His speech has been absolutely mind blowing and highly inspiring. His first book, Shake hands with the devil-The Failure of Humanity in Rwanda, was awarded numerous awards and turned into an award winning movie. I first read about Dallaire in a book written by an MSF doctor (James Orbinski); he was described as the commander with the huge heart, who crossed boundaries to follow his intuition. Hearing him speak only made this statement more real, as he comes across as a strong, passionate human being, determined to change the painful world of war in forgotten countries. This book reflects his passion about ending the use of children in war; he presents facts and comes with clear plans and strategies. At times, the book seemed to stagnate, however it was an enlightening read, forceful and convincing.
